Read this article and put John Maxwell’s expert advice into practice!
John C. Maxwell, winner of the Booker Prize, Nobel Prize for Literature, and author of 24 fiction and motivational books, has deservedly earned the recognition of his name.
Every year, he speaks in front of millions of people by means of speeches, seminars, video courses, or training. He is a portrait of success, and he is willing to share his knowledge, wisdom, and experience with other people.
In his opinion, the key to success is having the right mindset. But, what is the mindset of successful people like?
- Thinking is like doing sports: train!
Many successful people acknowledge that they spend up to a couple of hours a day on mental training. Train your brain and increase your audacity!
- Take advantage of what you can do today
One of Maxwell’s quotes states that "Ideas have a short shelf life. You must act on them before the expiration date." Which means, do not postpone for tomorrow what you can do today, or even right now!
- Think outside the box
Try to leave room for other options. We often think that our opinion is the correct one, and sometimes we are right. But the best thing to do is not to limit ourselves: we have to dare to think outside the box.
- Successful people are masters of communication
Challenging conversations helps us to grow intellectually. This might be difficult for conservative mindsets, but flexibility of thought is acquired by practice! And practice makes perfect! Challenging conversations are also helpful when it comes to the elimination of stereotypes, which will make our decision-making more accurate and objective.
- Plan ahead but be ready to improvise
Being spontaneous is not easy either. Not everyone can make decisions in an unexpected situation and under stress; but sometimes it is necessary. Therefore, do plan ahead, but bear in mind that you will have to improvise at some point.
- Respect other people's opinion
We cannot always be right. Sometimes it is necessary to understand and accept other people's opinion, or at least, to take them into account. Give other points of view a chance and broaden your horizons.
Mental work is not visible to the naked eye, but it cannot be underestimated.
Think beyond your own boundaries and move forward. This will help you to reach success, and so does Global InterGold!
