Gold has long attracted the attention of treasure hunters due to its exceptional value. Over the centuries, the methods of searching for this noble metal have undergone a real evolution — from primitive to the most advanced technologies. And modern treasure hunters are increasingly using high-tech equipment.

However, sometimes amazing finds can be made using the simplest methods. One of them is exploring rivers and streams, where, with patience and luck, gold can be found even without the use of complex equipment. This is exactly what British treasure hunter Jane does. She regularly shares her finds on TikTok and Instagram.

Jane spends a lot of time exploring the waters of the south of England in search of lost objects and jewelry. And she recently posted a new video in which she shared one of the most interesting finds of her life.

“What a wonderful moment! I was lucky enough to pull this beautiful 18-karat gold and platinum solitaire ring out of the water,” the girl could not hide her joy.

The ring was in a hard-to-reach place at the bottom of the river: this, according to Jane, may indicate that the jewelry was thrown into the water intentionally. Her subscribers suggested that this incident could be associated with an emotional loss or personal drama. Other versions are also being put forward.

By the way, more than 180 thousand people follow Jane’s discoveries on TikTok. And it is the video with the gold ring that is currently the most popular on her account: the number of views of the publication is approaching 2 million.

As can be seen from Jane’s example, the search for gold and other jewelry these days has not only a material, but also an emotional component. After all, this activity is a kind of way to touch the stories of the past, reviving them through the found artifacts.

However, the issue of making a profit has not lost its relevance at all: for example, a resident of the Australian state of Victoria, using an amateur metal detector, discovered an ingot weighing 4.6 kilograms! Read more about this story in our article “Nugget from the Golden Triangle”.
