Zach Nelson from the USA published an impressive video on his YouTube channel JerryRigEverything. The blogger covered the Tesla Cybertruck with 24-karat gold, turning the car into a real work of art. This unusual project attracted millions of users and caused heated discussions on the network.
It all started when viewers suggested that Nelson cover the car with gold under one of the videos about Tesla. The blogger found the idea interesting, but expensive. However, he nevertheless realized the project thanks to the sponsor — the Ridge Wallets company. The work cost 60 thousand dollars.
Painstaking work
In a 13-minute video, Zach Nelson showed in detail all the stages of applying gold plating to a Tesla Cybertruck. The process began with removing all sensors, cameras, mirrors and external parts. The body of the electric car is made of stainless steel, resistant to corrosion, and therefore it required special treatment.
At the first stage, the Tesla body was cleaned and treated with a special acid, allowing the gold plating to penetrate the top layers of steel and prevent the destruction of the coating in the future. The next stage was similar to zink plating of the body: a thin layer of gold was applied with the help of electrolysis method.
Three people spent four days doing the painstaking work. The process required great precision and care to ensure uniform coverage and longevity. As a result, a microscopically thin layer of 24-karat gold appeared on the surface of the electric car.
Brilliant result
The Tesla Cybertruck has shone with a new shine, attracting admiring glances and causing delight among spectators and auto-tuning fans. The gold-plated electric car will be a prize of the planned competition, which adds intrigue and fuels interest in Zach Nelson’s project.
